SGS Group

Founded in 1878, the SGS Group is the world’s largest inspection, testing, certification, verification and risk management organisation. Truly worldwide and benefiting from a unique international network of 297 affiliated companies with over 1,180 offices, 321 laboratories and over 30,000 full-time employees, the SGS Group is able to provide its international clientele with a comprehensive range of services, in more than 140 countries. SGS Australasia

SGS Australasia Pty Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Société Générale de Surveillance SA, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. The Australasian operations of SGS were established in 1950 and today employs over 1,000 full and part-time staff working from 44 offices across Australia and New Zealand. At the present time, our Australasian network encompass Papua New Guinea and Fiji.

SGS Australia is certified to ISO 9002:1994 and won an Australian Quality Award in 1996 for our "Commitment to Business Excellence". We are proud of these achievements and would be pleased to use these skills to add value to your business processes as your working partner.

SGS ACQUISITION OF SCIENTIFIC SERVICES LIMITED (SSL):

SGS has demonstrated its commitment to a number of industry sectors, by recently announcing the acquisition of Scientific Services Limited (SSL), which encompasses a large network of laboratories and functions across a number of industry sectors, including the Australian Environmental Laboratories (AEL), as well as other facilities that will be able to test soil, water, agricultural commodities, and food based products for certification purposes. This move adds significant strength and credibility to SGS’s testing capabilities in Australasia.
